09/09/07 - Arts Council grant, radio project and presentation/performance
I've been awarded a grant of £5000 from the Arts
Council to produce five paintings and one video piece.
There will be a display of the paintings and others at the Brewery Arts
Centre and also a launch on the 23rd February 2008.
But first I'll be doing a presentation and performance at the First
International Conference.
Ambleside community radio project New Music, audio arts, radio works,
poetry and sound projects about the artist Kurt Schwitters, with Prof. Jerome Rothenberg, Dr Dorothea Dietrich and Dr Gotz-Lothar Darsow.
17/06/07 - Trouble at Mill! A summer exhibition by artists from Higherford Mill

The exhibition will be opened by Sajjad Karim M.E.P. at 7.30pm. Exhibition continues until 12th August.
This is a joint exhibition for all artists at Higherford Mill
including a collaborative video piece with
artist Anita Burrows called 'Bowled Over'.

I'm also working on musical adaptations of two of Kurt Schwitters' poems for
performance at John Baldwin's exhibition at the Brewery Arts Centre,
Kendle. I'll be putting the video footage on my website so stay tuned for more.
Also look out for details of my first major solo exhibition Feb - March 2008 also at the Brewery Arts Centre!

30/01/07 - Joe meets Rolf
Joe met Rolf Harris whilst painting a picture of Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester. The event was part of the BBC's forthcoming documentary on artist L.S. Lowry's life and works.
Fifteen artists were approached to each create a 21st century vision of Lowry's painting 'Piccadilly Gardens'. The original Lowry was created in the same place over fifty years ago in 1954.
